The Wonders of Nature

Nature has so many good qualities—its provides a peaceful setting for exploration and contemplation, and can create an invigorating atmosphere for exercise, such as walking, running, or biking along nature trails.

There are plenty of sites in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area that offer excellent opportunities for nature and wildlife observation. Nature centers and wildlife preserves display various plants, flowers, animals, and forests. If you enjoy hiking (or biking) along nature trails, there are plenty of those, too—the Hugh S. Branyon Back Country Trail is just over in Orange Beach. This trail is ten miles long and winds through four different ecosystems.

The range of trails, parks and other nature sites make these popular excursions around the Alabama Gulf Coast. Check out our Nature listings for more information.

It is Easy Being Green

No matter your last name, this is the time of year that we all feel a little Irish, at least in spirit. And here on the Alabama Gulf Coast we have plenty of ways to celebrate the green for St Patrick's Day.

With a pint in hand you can enjoy the Pub Crawl at The Wharf in Orange Beach or Papa Rocco's in Gulf Shores.

If you prefer your green on the golf course, you can swing into action at Kiva Dunes. The convenient location, right next door to Gulf Shores Plantation, means you'll be swinging into action only steps away from your vacation headquarters.

And if you are feeling lucky, maybe try your hand at a local fishing tournament. Your catch could net you that pot of gold.
